Morgellon's Disease, named after a similar affliction in the 17th Century found on the Morgellon's Islands is a new or a recrudescence of a long buried illness resulting from a multi stage parasite. In its severe form multiple pruritic lesions occur throughout the skin and sub cutaneous tissue associated with blue, red, black and clear thread like material emerging from the lesions. The contagious illness can destroy bones, joints and teeth and creates holes in the face so severe that people are fearful to be seen in public. Muscles may ache and twitch, mental states range from depression to outright despair and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) may show tiny areas like small strokes primarily in the peri-ventricular area. Adding to the misery are medical professionals convinced by erroneous information that the condition is "DOP" or "delusions of parasitosis". What is obvious and cannot easily be overlooked is black material coming from the skin and multiple bacteriological infections from a variety of organisms some rarely seen like the soil bacteria Stenotrophomonas maltophilia to a growing bacteriological epidemic of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. Bearing some relationship to the worm disease, Schistosomiasis as well as the microscope larval blood borne worms of Filariasis, the condition may be passed through barely visible white flakes and appears to be passed through direct person to person contact. Often mis-diagnosed as "Scabies", the condition is unresponsive to the usual anti-scabicides and anti-lice medicine. Skin manifestations range from "itchy red bumps" to hair like projections or clear straw like material from the skin. Hair is often affected with scalp lesions, altered hair (described as "not my own" by patients) and hair loss. Shell like material may be found and ant like creatures can appear in the hair.
One patient described the condition as a real Ripley "Believe it or not" as she also described slug like material emerging from her body and increased disease activity at night and in the dark. Clothing can feel like sandpaper and when eyes are affected the irritating experience has been called "steel wool". Muscles may spontaneously contract and mental changes are termed "brain fog" with noticeable loss of short term memory. Some people may experience increased sensitivity to electrical fields and difficulty using computers, particularly on the internet.
We have had a large experience with this condition and have treated hundreds of patients. Using a combination of anti-parasitics (such as praziquantel, mebendazole, thiobendazole, ivermectin), antibiotics and a range of local treatments, we have seen much improvement. Occasionally colloidal silver can be useful.
However, the most consistent and useful initial treatment we have discovered is EARTH WATER BATHS™ which are described below. Also altering magnetic fields with very strong magnets appears to disorient the organism and greatly reduce symptoms.
